The glory days of the SUV may have faded into the sunset, but that doesn't mean there isn't still a desire - mostly from creepy dictators - for ulra-luxurious, super expensive works of heavy metal. Today, we count down the ten most badass SUVs ever made. From a $1.5 million Dartz with leather made out of whale penis foreskins to the iconic Lamborghini LM002, we have left no stone unturned.
10. Lamborghini LM002
Estimated Cost: $120,000
Lamborghini's attempt to enter the SUV market was, unfortunately, misguided. The LM002 was designed to be a military vehicle but experienced a myriad of mechanical failures while in use. It was reported that armies had to have two trucks BEHIND the LM002 just to make sure it didn't break down. It doesn't appear that the company's next effort, the Urus, will be anywhere near as bad.
9. Dartz Kombat
Estimated Cost: $225,000
The Kombat is the cheapest truck in the Dartz lineup (which isn't saying much). It's fully armored, hand-built in Russia, and comes equipped with a beastly Vortec V8. We dig...
8. International CXT
Estimated Cost: $125,000
The CXT (commercial extreme truck) is an absolute monster. It's capable of towing up to 20 tons and features a massive 466-cubic-inch, 7.6-liter engine. At just over 21 feet, parallel parking might be a slight issue.
7. Freightliner Sport Chassis
Estimated Cost: $195,000
The Sport Chassis is legit. It's made out of solid steel and even comes with a sport package that (supposedly) can handle some pretty serious off-roading.
6. Alton Truck Company F650
Estimated Cost: $200,000
This behemoth was strictly designed for lottery winners and football players with cash to burn. It's ugly, slow, and totally dumb. Not saying we wouldn't want one...
5. Paramount Marauder
Estimated Cost: $650,000
You might have seen this beast on a very memorable episode of U.K. Top Gear. In any case, the Marauder is basically a slightly detuned version of Paramount's military vehicles. It also happens to be four times the weight of a Hummer H2.
4. Dartz Prombron Aladeen Edition
Estimated Cost: $500,000
This puppy screams oil money. Half a million bucks for a glorified Toyota FJ Cruiser?! We still love it, of course.
3. Spyker D8 Peking to Paris
Estimated Cost: $280,000
It might not have come to fruition just yet, but we hope that the Spyker Peking to Paris eventually becomes a reality. Sweet lines!
2. Conquest Vehicles Knight XV
Estimated Cost: $629,000
With a production run of just 100 vehicles, the Knight XV is one of the rarest (and most expensive) SUVs on the planet. It is hand-crafted in Cananda, fully armored, and is a favoirite among dictators and celebrities (including Dwight Howard) alike. We like it for it's completely bad-ass exterior.
1. Dartz Prombron Red Diamond Edition
Estimated Cost: $1.5 Million
It's bullet and grenade proof. It's made in Russia and has leather seats made from whale penis. Oh, it's also $1.5 million bucks. What could be better than that?
