This Sunday, Peyton Manning will miss his first start since he was a freshman at Tennessee back on September 24, 1994. He began that day as the third-string quarterback for the Vols, but after starter Todd Helton (ring a bell?) and backup Jerry Colquitt were injured in a game against Mississippi State, Peyton took over, and started the following week against Washington State. In every game his team has played since, Manning was the starting QB.

His streak of 227 consecutive starts is nothing short of amazing, and in honor of Manning's durability over the years, we're reflecting on just how much has changed in the 17 years since Peyton's missed start as a college freshman. From the No. 1 songs and TV shows to the price of gas to what your favorite athletes and porn stars were up to, we're taking a look back at the pop culture of 1994. So, as Colts fans and Manning fantasy football owners mourn, check out What the World Looked Like The Last Time Peyton Manning Missed a Start...
