In the ongoing attempt by retailers to thwart sneaker resellers, Finnish store Beamhill has come up with a creative way to release the Sean Wotherspoon x Nike Air Max 1/97.

Ahead of the sneaker's international launch on Saturday, March 24, Beamhill announced a unique release procedure that will require shoppers to pen an essay or short story detailing their love for Air Max shoes. The store is allowing submissions in both English and Finnish, although it isn't interested in hearing mindless pleas.

" Feel free to interpret the subject as creatively as you want, but please note that we are looking for stories related to the sneakers and the culture, not for a list of general reasons why you should get the shoes," the retailer wrote on Instagram. "Sob stories won't get you far here. "

Unfortunately for readers in the States, winners will be required to pick up the sneakers in person from Beamhill's Helsinki location, so this may not be the most efficient route to the Wotherspoon collaboration. The Air Max 1/97 will release in the U.S. for Air Max Day on Monday, March 26.

Earlier this month, UK retailer Offspring attempted to ban resellers from purchasing Virgil Abloh's European-exclusive Off-White x Air Jordan 1.
