For the most part, Michael Jordan is well-liked within the hip-hop community, but Long Beach rapper Vince Staples has mixed feelings about the Hall of Famer. Staples was asked by GQ to give his opinion on the last 20 years of the magazine's "Man of the Year" covers. When Michael Jordan's 1998 year cover came up, the young musician had some harsh words to share.
While he expressed his opinion in a somewhat joking manner, he did go as far as comparing him to Donald Trump. "Michael Jordan's such a scumbag. I love him. Michael Jordan and Donald Trump are the same kind of person. Michael Jordan, Donald Trump, they are the epitome of bad people in America becoming successful," he said. He didn't go into details about why felt that way, but it could be about Jordan's perceived greediness and the violence that surrounds his sneakers, which wouldn't be the first time he was called out for that.
