UPDATE (September 3, 2:00 p.m.):

Images of the 2016 Air More Uptempo retro have surfaced courtesy of NikeBlog. From the looks of things, these will be extremely close to the originals — aside from the noticeably smaller Air unit. There's also and brand new, Chicago Bulls-inspired white and red makeup in the works.

Scottie Pippen wore a ton of dope Nike sneakers throughout his 20 plus years in the NBA, but few are as memorable as the Air More Uptempo. The sneaker's in-your-face branding is synonymous with the mid-'90s, and now we're learning that it will be making a reappearance in 2016.

Best known for the "AIR" branding on its side panels, the Nike Air More Uptempo was first released in 1996. It's not all flash, though, as the heel-to-toe Nike Air unit was also a major breakthrough for basketball footwear at the time. The last time the Air More Uptempo was on shelves was its "Olympic" retro during Summer 2012.

Now, it'll make a splash again when it returns in its O.G. black and white colorway. According to Balt Sneaker Show, you can expect this release to hit sometime in 2016.
