Only time will tell if the Nike Air Huarache can replace the adidas Stan Smith as fashion's favorite sneaker, but in the meantime, Nike is repurposing the tech for a rugged new boot.
This Nike Huarache boot, spotted on US11, lifts the midsole tooling, inner bootie, and heel strap from the original runner and adds winterized protection in the form of a tough leather layer. Meanwhile, the lacing system has been scrapped in favor of a zipper-equipped closure.
You'll have to check back for official details on these, but there's a good chance you'll see them on shelves before the end of the year.
