Sneaker violence is becoming a daily occurrence, but one of the most desperate cases occurred over the weekend in Jersey City, N.J.

According to NJ.com, a woman was leaving the city's light rail train at the Garfield Avenue Station on Saturday morning at 1:25 a.m., when she was approached by three men. The men proceeded to jump on her, with one of the men hitting her in the face.

The motive remains unknown, but the men stole a pair of "grey and peach Air Jordans," along with $15 and the woman's ID. The exact sneakers stolen from the woman are unclear, but it could have been a pair of Air Jordan XIIs or Air Jordan IIIs, per the report's description.

This won't be the last time we relay a story such as this, but it doesn't make it any less disheartening when it happens.
