A Paterson, N.J. resident has been charged with second-degree robbery over a July 28 incident that involved a pair of Air Jordan VIs.

According to My Central Jersey, the man, identified as 22-year-old Steve Cardona, setup a meeting with a 16-year-old to purchase the teen's sneakers for $490.

When the two met at the corner of an intersection in the township of Bridgewater, N.J., Cardona grabbed the sneakers and fled, but not before pepper spraying the teen.

Cardona was eventually apprehended by authorities and identified by the victim as the assailant.

With the holidays in full effect, there are a bunch of coveted sneakers set to release, including retro VIs, so stay safe out there.
