There's no getting around the fact that Carmelo Anthony has started the season in a bit of a rut, particularly in fourth quarter situations. In the final period of the season's four games so far, Melo's shot just 7-22 for a total of 15 points. Unfortunately for the New York Knicks, Melo's play in clutch situations isn't doing their record any favors, and they've started the season 1-3. Tonight they'll head to Charlotte where they take on the 3-2 Bobcats from Time Warner Cable Arena. New York will be looking to pick up an important win, while Melo hopes to break out of his fourth quarter slump: "That's where I'm second-guessing myself. And I'm second-guessing my shot, and should I take this or should I pass this. I got to get out of that mentality quick," Anthony told ESPN.

If Carmelo Anthony is able to repeat history in tonight's game, he should have no trouble in the 4th. On November 8, 2006, as a member of  the Denver Nuggets, Carmelo Anthony had an outstanding showing against the New York Knicks. Squaring off against his current team, Melo had 37 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, three steals, and also one block during a downright incredible night of play. Unfortunately for the Nuggets, they weren't able to slow down New York's Jamal Crawford, who had 35 points during the 109-107 Knicks win. Despite the close loss, Carmelo Anthony's performance led the entire game, and it was performances like this that gave Anthony the privilege of signing with the game's most elite brand.

Carmelo Anthony signed his Nike deal in May of 2003, and during the 2003-04 season, he began wearing several Jordan Brand PE legacy models, including the Air Jordan 2 and Air Jordan XII. During this 37-point showing in Denver, Anthony wore the Jordan Melo M3. This 2006 style has yet to be re-issued, however Jordan Brand has announced plans to retro one of his earliest models, the Jordan Melo 1.5, in the near future.
