Chris Lee's Top 25 Sneakers of All Time

Chris Lee has his hands in many things. Not only has he built his website Ctothejl.com into a force within the streetwear/skate arena, he also is responsible in for the step up in wooden jewelry powerhouse GoodWoodNYC. Lee started Ctothejl.com during his freshman year of college in 2006, and since then the site has been known for it’s knack of getting content up seconds after news breaks. We hit up the young’n to give us his Top 25 Sneakers of all-time. See what cracked his diverse list.

Chris says: "The Vans Half Cab has always been a staple shoe, Kicks/HI put their spin on it and it came out dope."

Chris says: "When the Bape Roadsta first came out, people were confused. There wasn't really a shoe like this out there, especially with all the patents and other materials they used on them."

Chris says: "These went for $200 a pop when they first came out and were impossible to find, they only lasted a few seasons, but for those who picked them up, knew what's up."

Chris says: "Muska is an OG in the game, this sneaker came out in the early '00s, it was one of the first skate sneakers to use 3M on the side panels, the black/silver pair, insane."

Chris says: "The Lakai Staple was the go-to shoe back in the day for skating, they retailed at $59 and lasted mad long."

Chris says: "Favorite skater, amazing shoe."

Chris says: "The first P. Rod on Nike SB was an instant hit, when P. Rod did this shoe with Tinker, people paid dough."

Chris says: "Ah, the Koston 1, if you skated one point in your life, you know how much this sneaker means. Lakai and eS both re-issued this sneaker, I believe it goes under the eS- one now."

Chris says: "Koston leaving Lakai for Nike SB was heartbreaking, but the sneaker that came out of it was worth it. Lunarlon in a skate shoe, that is all."

Chris says: "Frank the Butcher designed these, and also sent them to me for the harsh winters, let's just say this is the best Timb boot ever."

Chris says: "Slept on these tough, but was lucky enough to obtain a pair, the overall design of this sneaker is just amazing, again, the Butcher killed this."

Chris says: "This sneaker first released at Barney's and Reed Space in New York, the color mashups on all pigeon inspired shoes are a must cop."

Chris says: "There was a riot for these shoes, if that doesn't sum it up..."

Chris says: "Only the ones with the DQM tag — the ones with the Nike tag mean nothing."

Chris says: "Super Red, when these first leaked on the net it was insane, Nice Kicks x Ronnie Fieg, what!"

Chris says: "The better color of the three, all black everything with these."

Chris says: "It was early in the game when these released, of course there was a crazy line and eBay prices were in the thousands, but the Red Croc is really something."

Chris says: "Supreme just really kills every Nike SB sneaker, these were probably the best out of them all, the snakeskin Swoosh on the quilted leather made this sneaker."

Chris says: "Nike SB Diamond Dunk - Nick Tershay designed this sneaker for a Nike SB Managers pack, once this sneaker was posted up on Nike Talk, it was game over, most-wanted SB in the game."

Chris says: "Who doesn't like the OG Jordan IV's?"

Chris says: "Black/Cement, all day."

Chris says: "Function over fashion, even though the Free 2's have a dope design, these are the MOST comfortable shoes I've ever put on my feet. I will forever wear these in multiple colors."

Chris says: "The first basketball/skate shoe ever created, the colorways of this sneaker were endless, and the best part is they were skateable too."

Chris says: "Favorite of all time, all black Jordan III's, what more could you ask for? When these first released, I couldn't afford them. Missed out on them and was pretty bummed. Once I had some money saved, I went to Flight Club in L.A. and bought two pairs. Looking to get a third soon. Murdered out."
