Andy Oliver's Top 25 Sneakers of All Time

Andy says: "One of Tinker Hatfield's many creations, the Huarache definitely warrants top marks for comfort. A bit bizarre looking, but that's not always a bad thing when it comes to sneakers."

Andy says: "By 2008, I had more or less stopped paying attention to basketball shoes. Everything changed when the first Hyperdunk released, and it's gone on to push the entire sneaker industry forward. Nearly every hoops shoe released by Nike since then has been directly influenced by this sneaker, and I still wear the blacked-out pair on the regular."

Andy says: "When these released, I wasn't buying a lot of adidas. That being said, I looked long and hard at these in the UK a number of years back, and haven't seen them again. My good friend Dave has them, which makes the sneaker lust even worse." [photo via http://www.wsdjwt.com/]

Andy says: "Everyone and their mother is wearing a Destroyer jacket these days, but the sneaker version is little less prevalent. The materials on the 'Destroyer' Dunks are truly top notch, and they make for a near-perfect execution of the varsity concept."

Andy says: "I'm still trying to track down all of the colors from this pack. When everyone else was collaborating on Dunks and Air Force 1s, Supreme dug the Trainer TW II from the archives. Not the most comfortable SB, but one of the best looking ever."

Andy says: "I'm a huge fan of the work that Taka Hayashi has done with Vans. He always brings something fresh and interesting to the table, and is in a select group of designers where I actually feel as if I'm getting more than what I'm paying for. The Pendleton collab is my favorite on his resume."

Andy says: "Reebok was on a nice run in the late '90s, and these are my favorite shoe from that era. Bulky, and very '90s, these still manage to turn heads 15 years later."

Andy says: "I've been on a mission the last few years to track down the Air Force 1s that I missed out on or couldn't afford when they dropped. This was at the top of my list. My good friend Sean has had these since they dropped, and it always killed me. Sneaker jealousy is a terrible thing."

Andy says: "The 1300 is my favorite New Balance model. The OG colorway is definitely great, but the ARC collaboration from a few years back is my pick. These are pretty easy to come across in larger sizes, but a bitch in 9.5 or 10. Still searching."

Andy says: "This is the shoe that really put the Gel Lyte III on the map. The Pattas and a few other Ronnie Fieg makeups before had garnered some attention, but things were never the same after these."

Andy says: "These released as part of the Originals aZX project, and have resided in my eBay saved search list ever since. The ZX Boat is a fairly unique entry from adidas, and these are the best makeup yet on this model."

Andy says: "I don't have the same lust for Dunks and SBs that a lot of sneaker lovers do. I think I was burnt out on skate shoes by the time that Nike's SB line blew up, so I just ignored these. I regret it. They're amazing."

Andy says: "Hands down the best Blazer of all time. I don't own these, and I probably never will because I'm way too cheap to pay what these are going for, but I still love them."

Andy says: "You can usually see an evolution year to year in the Jordan line… but the VIII broke the mold. Heavy and clunky, these feel totally different than every other Jordan and are surprisingly rockable casually."

Andy says: "I wore a lot of skate shoes in the mid '90s. In fact, I could comprise this entire list of skate shoes that I loved from that era. Regardless, Axion was always my favorite brand, and the Ativa was my favorite shoe. Axion made some very unique, well-made skate shoes, and even tried to break into the running shoe market. I had ordered a pair, but I think they shut down operations before they shipped. Bummer."

Andy says: "These are 11 years old, and I still run in them. The quilted texture on the toe is admittedly weird, but I dig them. The Tailwinds from the year before were also really great. Can we get a retro, Nike?"

Andy says: "This shoe continues to elude me. I've looked high and low for a pair in a 9.5 or 10 since they released, and I've never found them for a fair price. I'm a sucker for tan and gum soles, so these are right up my alley. If you have a pair, hit me up on Twitter!"

Andy says: "Obviously an iconic shoe, I've worn these completely into the ground. Super versatile, and super functional, these are probably the best combination of looks and comfort of any sneaker ever."

Andy says: "Long before week-long Kith campouts, Ronnie was knocking out great Gel Lyte makeups for David Z. No shoe in my closet gets more attention than these, and it's clear why. Without a doubt my favorite Gel Lyte III ever, and also Ronnie Fieg's most underrated."

Andy says: "I really love 180's, and I was lucky enough to grab these when nobody seemed to care about this model. Definitely a strange mixture of colors and camo, but it somehow comes together."

Andy says: "In a sea of black sneakers in my list, the Homegrowns most definitely stand out. These have a nice mix of textures, and the cork insole is pretty killer. These knocked the Infrared 90's off my list, so that says a lot."

Andy says: "I feel like a cliché listing these so high, but it's impossible not to. I'm actually excited about the retro of these in the next few weeks, and I rarely get excited about Jordan releases anymore."

Andy says: "These are a stunning shoe. There's not much else to say. One of the more wearable Jordans casually too."

Andy says: "If there was a sneaker that 'started it all,' it would probably be these. As a kid, I used to walk to the sporting goods store while my mom was grocery shopping to check them out. I don't even know what the draw was, but I still love them. I was underwhelmed by the retro a few years back, but they'll have to do."

Andy says: "These are my favorite shoe ever. The Jordan V is such a great concept and bold design. I had a picture of these in my locker in junior high. The only pair of sneakers that I've ever doubled up on. Every time I take a pair of Jordan Vs out of the box, I say 'wow.' Still."
