The sleek, sexy lines of the Chevrolet Corvette dynasty just scream “film star,” don’t they? Unsurprisingly, a lot of filmmakers have felt that way over the years. As with any film car, your mileage may definitely vary regarding the rest of the film. All we can promise you is that these film ‘Vettes are both distinctive and memorable. Here are The 25 Best Movie Corvettes.

25. Heavy Metal
Year: 1981
Stars: Rodger Bumpass, John Candy, Joe Flaherty
Model: 1959 Corvette (C1)
This first 'Vette makes a grand entrance in the opening credits, setting an ominous tone for the movie. It delivers evil to the world. Seriously.
24. Live and Let Die
Year: 1973
Stars: Roger Moore, Yaphet Kotto, Jane Seymour
Model: Corvorado by Dunham Coach (C3)
Dunham didn't do many custom builds incorporating Corvettes, but this is probably his best-known one. If you didn't know Corvettes, you might simply think it was a pimped out Eldorado. It's not.
23. Death Race 2000
Year: 1975
Stars: David Carradine, Sylvester Stallone
Model: Shala-Vette
If you're familiar with the works of Roger Corman, chances are good that you've seen this film. The Shala-Vette in question is Frankenstein's (Carradine's) Monster, and gets a load of screen time. True to the character for which it was named, this Monster is indeed made up of parts from several different cars -- including some 1968 'Vette body parts.
22. Mr. Deeds
Year: 2002
Stars: Adam Sandler, Winona Ryder, Steve Buscemi
Model: 2002 Corvette (C5)
What do you do when you're a nice guy and you suddenly find yourself with a whole bunch of money? Listen to Prince and buy everyone a (little) red Corvette.
21. Body Heat
Year: 1981
Stars: William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Ted Danson, Richard Crenna, Mickey Rourke
Model: 1964 Corvette (C2)
So you say you want to film a movie about a hot, steamy, summer affair in Florida, and the couple has to also plot to kill the woman's husband so they can be together and enjoy all his money? We don't know about you, but we'd cast a good 'Vette, too.
20. Terms of Endearment
Year: 1983
Stars: Shirley Maclaine, Debra Winger, Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Jeff Daniels, John Lithgow
Model: 1978 Corvette (C3)
This Silver Anniversary Edition special 'Vette looks especially striking on the beach -- or when being driven by yet another astronaut. Using his feet. We forgot to mention that part.
19. Corvette Summer
Year: 1978
Stars: Mark Hamill, Annie Potts
Model: 1973 Corvette (C3)
The star car is a heavily customized 1973 C3 'Vette that a high school shop class rescues from a junk yard and uses as its project car. Then the car gets stolen, and Mark Hamill has to go rescue it. Yes -- Luke Skywalker -- or the Joker, if you prefer. The everlasting appeal of the Corvette and the Joker's involvement in this movie are probably the only two reasons it's still remembered fondly.
18. Less Than Zero
Year: 1987
Stars: Andrew McCarthy, Robert Downey Jr., Jami Gertz
Model: 1959 Corvette (C1)
Long before he was Tony Stark, RDJ was a hopeless character named Julian in this film adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis novel. We love us some RDJ, but the car was the clear star here. Hey, it happens.
17. True Lies
Year: 1994
Stars: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Arnold, Bill Paxton
Model: 1959 Corvette (C1)
This 'Vette belongs to Simon (Paxton), whose rationale behind owning this car is "The 'Vette gets 'em wet". Harry Tasker (Schwarzenegger) finds Simon more than slightly annoying, as the video illustrates. But he drives the car anyway.
16. 2 Fast 2 Furious
Year: 2003
Stars: Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Eva Mendes, Ludacris, Cole Hauser
Model: 1998 Corvette (C5)
If you're not a fan of 'Vette carnage, you'd best stay clear of this one. At least it wasn't a classic 'Vette? Apparently, this flip wasn't in the script, so the car didn't have a rollcage. Stunt driver Sam Maloof managed to save himself from serious injury or death by using a passenger seat-mounted grab strap to pull himself under the car's dashboard. The footage used in the final film is footage from this unintended near-calamity.
15. The Wraith
Year: 1986
Stars: Charlie Sheen, Sherilyn Fenn, Nick Cassavetes, Randy Quaid
Model: 1977 Corvette (C3)
Any self-respecting villain wanting to flex his automotive muscle might choose a silver 'Vette with red and orange accents, like this one. We think.
14. XXX
Year: 2002
Stars: Vin Diesel, Asia Argento, Samuel L. Jackson
Model: 1998 Corvette (C5)
We're pretty sure you don't want to try getting the kind of air this 'Vette gets. Unless you're Xander Cage (Diesel).
13. Viva Las Vegas
Year: 1964
Stars: Elvis Presley, Ann-Margret
Model: 1963 Corvette Stingray (C2)
Three C2 'Vettes show up in this film, in which Elvis Presley stars as race car driver Lucky Jackson. Perhaps this is where Sir Mix-A-Lot found his immortal "got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette" line.
12. Fast Five
Year: 2011
Stars: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Dwayne Johnson
Model: 1963 Corvette Grand Sport Replica (C2) by Mongoose Motorsports
Only five actual Grand Sports still exist, and are considered far too rare and valuable to simply show up and get destroyed in random films. That's where replicars like this come into play. Purists can rest slightly easier knowing that no real GS cars were harmed in the making of this film.
11. Pootie Tang
Year: 2001
Stars: Lance Crouther, Chris Rock, J.B. Smoove, Robert Vaughn, Wanda Sykes
Model: 1969 Corvette (C3)
Everyone knows superheroes love their 'Vettes. Even a few Batmobiles were based on 'Vettes. Why shouldn't Pootie Tang have a powder blue one of his own?
10. Con Air
Year: 1997
Stars: Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, John Malkovich, Steve Buscemi, Ving Rhames, Mykelti Williamson
Model: 1967 Corvette Stingray (C2)
It's a sad, sad thing when you watch cars as nice as this one get destroyed in movies. At least, if you're us.
9. Animal House
Year: 1978
Stars: John Belushi, Kevin Bacon, Karen Allen, Tim Matheson
Model: 1959 Corvette (C1)
This 'Vette was already nearly 20 years old by the time this film was produced, but you can tell how well it was cared for. With those glorious curves and brightwork, it's easy to see why.
8. Boogie Nights
Year: 1997
Stars: Mark Wahlberg, Burt Reynolds, Julianne Moore, Luis Guzman, Heather Graham, William H. Macy, Don Cheadle
Model: 1977 Corvette (C3)
If you were a porn star in the '70s, you'd have a 'Vette. What's interesting about this one in particular is that it also serves as a potent analogy -- as Eddie/Dirk (Wahlberg) starts to go downhill, so does his 'Vette.
7. Apollo 13
Year: 1995
Stars: Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, Kevin Bacon, Gary Sinise, Ed Harris
Model: 1970 Corvette Stingray (C3)
The first American man in space, astronaut Alan Shepherd, drove his 1957 'Vette to astronaut training. GM seized that publicity opportunity and made a gift of a 1962 'Vette to Shepherd after he successfully returned from that first manned space mission. A GM dealer close to the Florida Space Center went a step further, offering special financing to astronauts if they'd only drive a nice new Corvette off the lot. Apollo 13 -- both the book and the film -- is a case of art imitating life. We mention this because cynical viewers might think it's just a handy bit of "America! F$!k Yeah!" product placement. It's not.
6. Rush Hour
Year: 1998
Stars: Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker
Model: 1971 Corvette Stingray (C3)
Admit it. You were just a little jealous of Carter (Tucker) when you first saw him pull up in this sweet ride. It's OK. We were, too.
5. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
Year: 1999
Stars: Mike Myers, Heather Graham, Elizabeth Hurley, Seth Green, Verne Troyer, Rob Lowe
Model: 1966 Corvette (C2)
What else could an impossibly hot woman named "Felicity Shagwell" drive? This star-spangled C2 'Vette was clearly the only choice.
4. The Dead Pool
Year: 1988
Stars: Clint Eastwood, Patricia Clarkson, Liam Neeson
Model: 1963 RC Corvette (C2)
An RC 'Vette counts, you say? We say it does. In this entry in the Dirty Harry series, this RC 'Vette not only blows up a real Mercedes-Benz, it also leads one hell of a car chase.
3. Star Trek
Year: 2009
Stars: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg
Model: 1965 Corvette Stingray (C2)
Putting an iconic all-American Captain in an iconic all-American car makes complete and absolute sense. This epic chase scene doesn't hurt, either.
2. Cleopatra Jones
Year: 1973
Stars: Tamara Dobson, Bernie Casey, Brenda Sykes, Antonio Fargas
Model: 1973 Corvette Stingray (C3)
What's sexier than a beautiful secret agent who kicks ass and takes names while wearing all the good parts of '70s style? When that same ass-kicking woman also drives a beautiful black and silver Stingray. Even better, she had it custom-fitted with a T-bar that retracts whenever she wants to get out -- so her perfectly shaped Afro doesn't get ruined. We like a car that looks hot and gets out of the way of our hair.
1. Kiss Me Deadly
Year: 1955
Stars: Ralph Meeker, Albert Dekker, Paul Stewart
Model: 1954 Corvette (C1)
One of the finest entries into the film noir genre also featured one of the most memorable Corvettes in silver screen history. If that isn't enough reason to watch it, this film is referenced in everything from Raiders of the Lost Ark to Pulp Fiction to Family Guy.
