If you're familiar with the works of Roger Corman, chances are good that you've seen this film. The Shala-Vette in question is Frankenstein's (Carradine's) Monster, and gets a load of screen time. Stunt driver Sam Maloof managed to save himself from serious injury or death by using a passenger seat-mounted grab strap to pull himself under the car's dashboard. The footage used in the final film is footage from this unintended near-calamity.

Apollo 13 -- both the book and the film -- is a case of art imitating life. We mention this because cynical viewers might think it's just a handy bit of "America! F$!k Yeah!" product placement. It's not.
