Andor, which serves as a prequel-in-series-form to Rogue One, got its first teaser trailer on Thursday.

Continually fed Star Wars fans can expect the series to premiere on Aug. 31 via Disney+. In the meantime, see the newly released teaser above, featuring the return of Diego Luna as Cassian Andor.

Described as a “tense nail-biting spy thriller” from creator and showrunner Tony Gilroy, Andor was among the galaxy-expanding Star Wars enterprises given the cover story treatment from Vanity Fair this month, complete with photos by Annie Leibovitz.

In a bonus VF discussion shared this week, Gilroy gave fans a dash of insight as to what they can expect from the new series. Of note was the suggestion that not only should viewers expect multiple “surprises,” but the series could potentially upend how a few canonic characters are viewed among the fanbase.

“There are certain events that happen in these five years that are important and need to be paid attention to,” Gilroy said.

The latest Andor peek arrives on the first day of the 2022 edition of Star Wars Celebration at the Anaheim Convention Center. Those unable to make it out to the four-day event in person can instead tune in via the official livestream below.
