Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino was released from prison this morning. The Jersey Shore star got out at 8:30 a.m., and reportedly was greeted by his wife Lauren and several members of the reality TV show cast.

Sorrentino has been in prison since January on charges of tax evasion. In a statement shared with TMZ, the couple who married shortly before Mike was sent away, said that they are happy to put this situation behind them.

"We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life. Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort," they said. "We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations!"

The cast of Jersey Shore has been behind their friend the past few months, going so far as to appeal to Kim Kardashian in the hopes that she would use her success freeing prisoners to have Sorrentino freed as well.

As for The Situation, he was hanging with famous Fyre fraudster Billy McFarland. Vinny Guadagnino and Pauly D said that Mike spent time with the noted huckster in an interview with Jenny McCarthy.

They added that Mike saw his wife once a week while he was away.

"He's in such good spirits, because he sees Lauren once a week—his wife—and then he has so much to come home to," Pauly said at the time. "He has a job, he'll be filming, so he just wants to get it over with."

TMZ makes it seem like they are already filming, noting that film equipment was seen being moved into a home that has been used for previous seasons of the reality TV show.
