Children of the '90s were treated to the triumphant return of Bill Nye in early 2017, and now another scientific darling of the decade is joining him on Netflix. The Magic School Bus is back and better than ever, and Netflix just dropped a trailer to show off what the updated version of the kids show will look like.
There's one big change up front: the illustrious Ms. Frizzle, our fearless leader behind the wheel of the bus, will be joined by another member of her family, Ms. Fiona Felicity Frizzle. Voiced by Kate McKinnon, the younger Frizzle sister makes her entrance in dramatic fashion, roping into the classroom through a retractable glass ceiling and hitting her new students with an, "It me."
From there, we're treated to a whirlwind ride on the bus in question, traveling through volcanoes, diving into the deep sea, and flying into outer space. The iconic theme song even got a modern refresh, with some assistance from the man behind Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda. Though the title focuses on the magical elements of the bus, the scientific (and educational!) undercurrent of the show will be what sells parents and teachers on letting their kids watch the new series, Magic School Bus Rides Again.
Needless to say, people are pretty fired up about a beloved show returning with the backing of Netflix behind it, and Twitter users went crazy when the trailer dropped on Tuesday morning.
