If that brief teaser of The Get Down, Part II wasn't enough, don't trip; Netflix has released a longer piece that fleshes out the story, and it's damn good.
Set one year after the events of Part One, we see our squad (Books and Mylene in particular) changing. Mylene's on her way to disco superstardom, while Books is trying to balance his love for "The Get Down" (a.k.a. the sound that today's hip-hop was built on) and his movements into the more corporate lifestyle. With the corruption in the skyscrapers and on the streets, the two of them have to find a way to make the right moves, both separately and together.
With Part II of The Get Down hitting on April 7, 2017, we have some time before our minds are completely blown. For now, check out the full official trailer up above, as well as the official poster for this portion of the show (and some key art) down below.
