While the R-rated cat comedy Keanu beat the opening of Mother's Day on Friday, The Jungle Book stuck out its overall number one spot at box offices this weekend.

Keanu had a $3.5 million opening, defeating the $2.7 million opening of Mother's Day by a fair amount. Keanu, which is expected to earn more than $9 million this weekend, marks the first time Key & Peele stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have appeared alongside one another in a feature film.

Mother's Day starring Jennifer Anniston, Julia Roberts, Jason Sudeikis, and Kate Hudson was expected to gross around $25 million, but that projection has now been drastically lowered to about $7.7 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Neither came anywhere near beating The Jungle Book, which added $10.3 million, surpassing its $600 million global mark. On its opening weekend, Disney's The Jungle Book, directed by Jon Favreau, brought in a whopping $103.6 million.

Disney can also add the successful opening of Captain America: Civil War in certain foreign markets to its domination streak at the box office. The highly-anticipated superhero film has earned $84 million in its first three days, giving the opening of Avengers: The Age of Ultron a run for its money. In Mexico, Civil War secured the biggest opening day of all time with $7.3 million.
