Strangers from distant lands, friends of old, Lord of the Rings star and Homeland regular Miranda Otto has joined the cast of 24: Legacy. According to the Hollywood Reporter, she will play Rebecca Ingram, the former head of the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) who is now married to a senator named John Donovan (not yet cast). Her character will struggle with doubt over leaving the anti-terrorism agency.
While we won’t see the return of Jack Bauer, the reboot will follow military hero Eric Carter (Straight Outta Compton’s Corey Hawkins) who has trouble reentering the U.S. and enlists the help of CTU to stop a major threat on American soil.
24 writers Manny Coto and Evan Katz are working on the pilot, and the show is set to air some time in 2016 on Fox.
