Though it deeply pains most of us to even dare remember it, X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a pretty horrendous entry in the apparently endless X-Men franchise. A major point of contention for anyone unfortunate enough to have actually watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the general mistreatment of Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, and its [thankfully temporary] impact on the future of a proper Deadpool movie.
Of course, Ryan Reynolds gloriously defied the odds and will soon deliver the presumably great and lovably filthy Deadpool to audiences all across the globe. To continue his celebration of finally receiving cinematic vindication, Deadpool decided to share a special Australia Day video featuring a genuine message of international gratitude from our jovial friend. I'm kidding. The video is mostly just about how awful X-Men Origins: Wolverine really is and how, despite finally getting a proper movie, Deadpool still considers that appearance an unforgivable "career low."
Hugh Jackman, professional Wolverine, is spared Deadpool's wrath due solely to the fact that he's "a delightful guy" and a "true legend." In a career shift that will surely please Mr. Wade Wilson, Jackman recently announced plans to walk away from the franchise that's kept him unbelievably busy for the past two decades. "It just felt like it was the right time to do it," Jackman said during an appearance on Dr. Oz last year. "And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it."
