UPDATE 10:00 a.m.:

Speaking on "condition of anonymity" to the Associated Press, a law enforcement official confirms that three men were shot during some sort of dispute outside a McDonald’s restaurant near the subway entrance. The suspects are now believed to have fled in a "dark-colored vehicle," though no further descriptions have been given.

Three people were shot, one fatally, early Monday morning in midtown Manhattan near Penn Station. No potential suspects have been arrested or identified, according to the Associated Press. The incident reportedly took place around 6 a.m. local time near the entrance of a subway station at 35th and 8th, just a block from Penn Station.

Local authorities report that a "preliminary investigation" has already revealed that the shooting "may have occurred" inside the subway station before spilling out onto the street. Thus far, one person has been killed and two others were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. One of the injured sustained a shot to the stomach, while the other was shot in the leg.
