A woman traveling from Beijing to Wenzhou, China last Friday reached a fork in the road when she was told by airport security that she could not travel with a $200 bottle of cognac in her carry-on luggage because it was over 100 mL. So, taking the path that no one expected, she proceeded to drink the whole thing right then and there, rather than leave her Remy Martin XO Excellence behind.
According to the South China Morning Post, the woman, whose last name is Zhou, was then pronounced too drunk to board the plane, TIME reports. From TIME:
None
After being seen by a doctor, Zhou slept — and slept off the Remy Martin —and woke up around 7:00 p.m. sober. Her family later arrived at the airport and picked her up to take her home.
