A day after the Washington Post first pointed out that searching the terms "nigger king" or "nigger house" in Google Maps directs users to the White House, Google has apologized, but the racist searches were still bringing up the same result.
"Some inappropriate results are surfacing in Google Maps that should not be, and we apologize for any offense this may have caused," Google said in a statement released today. "Our teams are working to fix this issue quickly."
The White House comes up as the top result when the racist terms are searched over Washington D.C.
It's not clear so far how this happened. Google already shut down its Map Maker program that let users make their own edits due to pranksters inserting an Android mascot taking a leak on an Apple logo, but while that was actually funny this is just disturbing.
