If the executives at Universal are not rolling around on an extra-large, king size bed covered in cash right now, they're doing it wrong, because Furious 7 just became the first movie to earn a billion dollars in the studio's history.
The latest in the Fast and Furious franchise has now grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, after only 17 days in theaters, according to Variety.
Everyone expects the movie, which has been No. 1 at the box office for two weeks in a row, to come out on top again this weekend with another $20+ million.
Furious 7 is only the 20th movie to ever cross the billion dollar mark. The first movie to ever do it was Titanic, and the last to do it before Furious 7 was Transformers: Age of Extinction.
