The Super Troopers sequel is making new headway after securing distribution from 20th Century Fox, Collider reports. In an interview with Broken Lizard, the comedy and filmmaking team behind Super Troopers and Beerfest, the crew reveals that now all they need is the cash to make the movie.
Super Troopers 2 has raised about $27 million as of last October and are continuing to fundraise via Indiegogo at supertroopers2movie.com. In a previous Reddit AMA, star of Super Troopers Jay Chandrasekhar revealed that the sequel of the 2001 classic would be funded by its fans. There's some good news though, the larger the donation you make the better your rewards, including a ticket to see a Broken Lizard’s film, a cameo from the guys as your bridesmaids or groomsmen, or even a ride in one of the cars used in the movie.

Update 3/25/15 (5:06 p.m.): Super Troopers 2 has already surpassed its goal of raising $2 million within the first day of the crowdfunding campaign. More than 18,000 people have donated to push the total money raised to 101 percent of the goal. At this rate the film could become a full out blockbuster.
