Everyone who's graduated with a degree in journalism has been cursed with an unfortunate acronym: BJ. Unless you're a saint, it's impossible not to laugh when seeing those two letters paired together outside of the context of porn. Even worse was when an old alum from my school decided to add her graduation year and degree to her email signature: BJ '69. (I'd have said something about it if her email wasn't already criticizing a column of mine for being "sophomoric.")
