With the recent announcement that Jon Stewart would be stepping down from hosting duties at The Daily Show, the world of fake cable news got slightly dimmer.

For the past 16 years Stewart has been the face of legitimate news couched in satire for an entire generation. The Daily Show has often times been a more accepted means of news gathering than most outlets in the mainstream media. The new heir apparent to The Daily Show must not only be savvy enough to navigate the ins and outs of the beltway media, dissect the gross manipulation of news organizations by self-serving politicians on both sides of the aisle, and have the comedic skill set to interview everyone from the President of the United States to foreign leaders, to shitty actors, but they must continue to speak truth to power.
