Columbia Pictures President of Production Michael de Luca spilled a few details about Star Wars: Episode VIII and IX, saying in one of the infamous hacked Sony emails that the movies are “Luke and Leia story lines.” Did he elaborate further? Of course not. But for those who were worried that we were going to get the continued adventures of Jar-Jar Binks (and family), you’ll be greatly relieved to discover that we most definitely will not.
Looper’s Rian Johnson signed on as writer and director this past June, with Episode VIII hitting theaters in 2017 and Episode IX to follow in 2019.
