Even the President of the United States is not recession-proof.

President Obama told an assembled group of reporters today as he signed an executive order protecting consumers from identity theft that when he was in New York last month for the U.N. General Assembly, his credit card was rejected. He claims it was because “I don’t use it enough,” and it automatically set off a fraud alert.

Apparently, the waitress at the restaurant was skeptical of Obama’s excuse. “I was trying to explain to the waitress, you know, I really think that I’ve been paying my bills,” he said. Do you think, or do you know Mr. President?

It sounds like the President has been up late at night, long after Michelle has gone to bed, and is going in hard on infomercial binges. How do we know that he doesn’t have all kinds of exercise equipment and knife sets in some back closet of the White House? It’s time for the public to demand answers.
