Saturday Night Live just made a big announcement regarding the host/musical guest combo for their November 1 show:

— Saturday Night Live (@nbcsnl) October 14, 2014It is surprising that it took Chris Rock this long to get back to hosting SNL; his only turn hosting came in 1996 following his successful run as a cast member from 1990 to 1993. Prince has twice appeared on the show, setting the record for longest gap between musical appearances with his first (1981) and second (2006) performances coming almost exactly 25 years apart.
Rock and Prince will follow Jim Carrey and Iggy Azalea, who will host on October 25 after they take this week off.
