An autopsy has revealed that the black man killed by police in Utah last month was shot six times, including four times in the back.

On Sep. 10, 22-year-old Darrien Hunt was killed outside of a Saratoga Springs, Utah strip mall. Police claim that Hunt stormed towards them with a sword, forcing them to initially fire three shots at him, then four more when he attempted to run away.

However, Hunt's family says the sword he had was a toy with a dull edge. Hunt was reportedly dressed as an anime character the day he died, and a witness adds that he was wearing his earbuds and performing samurai-like actions.

According to the Associated Press, Hunt family attorney Robert Sykes cited the Utah County Attorney's Office saying that the trajectory of the gunshot wounds suggests that he was fleeing when he was shot.

"I think that means they were pursuing him, he was running away," Sykes told the Associated Press. "He was probably sacred to death."

By the end of next week, the county is expected to reach a decision on whether or not Hunt's death was justified.
