Zach Galifianakis and Louis C.K. might not make the most attractive duo, but they could be one of the funniest. Their series, Baskets, has just been picked up by FX for 2016. Galifianakis will serve as the star and executive producer, while C.K. will get an EP credit as well. Together with Jonathan Krisel of SNL and Portlandia fame, the two also co-wrote the pilot.

Galifianakis plays a burnout from a prestigious French clown school who will stop at nothing to become a respected clown. It'll be a difficult journey, though, as his character starts out working for a local rodeo.

"To say Zach's portrayal of the lead character Chip Baskets is hilarious/unique/riveting/fascinating would be an understatement," FX president of original programming Eric Schrier said. "We can’t wait for the world to meet him."

Ditto.
