A wildfire tearing through portions of Washington has consumed as many as 100 homes, according to officials.
The Associated Press reports that Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers said between 80 and 100 homes have been destroyed by a blaze that has ripped through north-central Washington:
Rogers said his team counted 30 homes and trailers destroyed in Pateros, another 40 in a community just outside the town at Alta Lake and about 25 homes destroyed elsewhere.
Rogers added that the blaze, which has reportedly ballooned to roughly 260 square miles, has yet to result in any injuries. Fire officials are still working to control it.
