Even though "Exodus" hasn't even hit theaters, Ridley Scott is already at work on his next Bible-based movie.

With Hollywood hurting for new movie ideas that don’t involve simply rebooting old franchises, Ridley Scott may have stumbled upon the best source material there is: the Bible.

After dropping the trailer for Exodus: Gods and Kings yesterday, Scott has already attached himself to another Bible-related project. This time, he’ll be reteaming with the Exodus team of 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment to make a movie about David, slayer of Goliath. According to Variety, the story will focus on David’s post-Goliath days as the King of Israel.

Scott is currently on board as a producer, and may direct if the timing can be worked out. With December’s Noah having made $359 million at the worldwide box office and Exodus likely to do the same, it’s safe to say that he'll probably make time for the Good Book.

The Bible…so hot right now. The Bible.
