The creators of the CW series Flash are promising "the most faithful DC Comic adaption ever," and that means bringing fan-favorite villain Captain Cold into the mix.
The series' executive producers announced Friday that the villain, whose real name is Leonard Snart, leader of villainous outfitl, the Rogues, will appear in the first season of the show and be played by Prison Break star Wentworth Miller.
"We'll be seeing his origin and the origin of the Rogues," exec producer Andrew Kreisberg said at the Television Critics Association Press Tour, adding that the show plans to use as many of the comic book's characters as possible.
It's only the latest casting announcement since news that John Wesley Shipp, who played The Flash in the CBS series from the 1990s would be playing Barry Allen's father on the new series. Barry Allen, aka The Flash, is played by Grant Gustin.
The show's producers also announced plans for a crossover event with another DC Comics-based series, Arrow. Episodes 8 of both shows are going to be a two-hour crossover event, DC CEO Geoff Johns said.
