Jennifer Love Hewitt has been killing the TV drama game since breaking out on Party of Five, and spent 107 episodes from 2005 to 2010 communing with the dead on CBS’ Ghost Whisperer. Variety is reporting that she’s returning to CBS, this time on Criminal Minds.
Criminal Minds will begin its 10th season this fall, and Love Hewitt will join the team as veteran undercover agent Kate Callahan, an accomplished member of the FBI whose next stop is the show’s Behavioral Analysis Unit.
Showrunner and executive producer Eric Messer said of his new star:
“We’re thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast. Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10th season.”
The new season will debut on October 1, and we can’t hardly wait.
