Actress Christina Chong has been added to the cast of Star Wars Episode VII, according to a report from Latino Review.
The up-and-coming actress most recently appeared on TV in Fox's 24: Live Another Day, which also featured confirmed Episode VII actor John Boyega.
Chong was recently announced as the female lead in the live-action video game adaptation Halo: Nightfall. The Ridley Scott-produced digital series will be packaged with the Halo: The Master Chief Collection that is scheduled for release later this year.
There hasn't been any official announcement yet, so we don't know what role Chong will be playing in Star Wars.
It's worth noting that the addition of Chong would mean that four of the five actors announced since the initial casting news broke would be women -- Lupita Nong'o, Gwendoline Christie and Crystal Clarke included.
It makes us wonder, was that always the plan, or is this a response to complaints over the lack of women in the cast that came after the big cast reveal back in April?
