Every year, the Hollywood Bowl puts on a one-weekend-only musical production featuring numerous celebrities, and this year they have decided to perform Hair, an ode to the 1960s counterculture/hippy movement that defined that entire generation. It has a lot of singing about sex and drugs, with a little on-stage nudity mixed in.
Yesterday, director and choreographer Adam Shankman announced the main cast via Instagram:
Krisitin Bell will be playing the lead role of Sheila, continuing in her musical phase after her runaway success in Frozen. She’ll be joined onstage by Hunter Parrish (Weeds), Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz (Glee), and Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation).
If you’re in the area, love musical theater, and enjoy Bell singing anything but the Frozen soundtrack, the show will run August 1, 2, and 3.
