Last night, star of My Big Fat Greek Wedding Nia Vardalos posted the following tweets:

(1 of 2) I'm working on the MBFGWedding sequel; now that I'm experiencing motherhood I feel ready to write this next chapter.
(2 of 2) A few jaded press corps will claim I ran out of money or just want to kiss John Corbett again. One of these things is true.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the entire original cast will be reuniting for this sequel to the surprising 2002 hit. There is no director attached as of yet, although one would have to consider original director Joel Zwick to be the favorite.

As for the movie itself? THR says:

The plot of the new script involves the reveal of a family secret and a new wedding, described as bigger and fatter, that brings the Greek clan together again.

In this current Hollywood world of unnecessary sequels, this might be one we actually enjoy. At the very least, it will be better than the spinoff sitcom My Big Fat Greek Life, which in 2003 lasted all of seven episodes.
