Borderline Films announced today that their upcoming film James White will be scored by Kid Cudi, who also has a starring role in the movie. It will be Cudi’s first foray into feature film scoring, although he seems a logical fit for it given that he has sold over 5.2 million albums in his career.
The film, which has wrapped production, stars Christopher Abbott (Girls) as the titular character, who according to the film’s press release is “struggling to take control of his reckless, self-destructive behavior in the face of momentous family challenges.” Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City) and Ron Livingston (Office Space) will also appear.
James White is hardly Cudi’s first work on camera. He appeared in the short-lived HBO series How to Make It in America, and also recently appeared in the movie Need for Speed. You can learn more about the Kickstarter campaign for this particular film here.
