Those transforming alienrobots are here to stay until what may be an actual age of extinction. Transformers: Age of Extinction is the beginning of a brand spanking new Transformers trilogy and this comes straight from Michael Bay himself: Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Bay shared, “It’s kind of like a new Transformers. We had three, the first trilogy, and this is going to be the next one.”

Hesitantly, Bay confirmed that he meant exactly what he said, perhaps his reluctance was only because he isn't sure of his involvement in the future. “I’m not necessarily sure that I’m doing [the others], but that’s what it’s meant for.”

TheShia LaBeouf-less new trilogy begins in theaters on June 27.
