A Broadway musical based on Tupac Shakur's music called Holler If Ya Hear Me is on the way, and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, musician and poet Saul Williams has been cast to star in the play. Holler If Ya Hear Me will focus on Tupac's music, and draw inspiration from the lyrics of his songs, as opposed to being a straight-up biography of the late rapper.
The show was written by Todd Kreidler, and will be directed by Kenny Leon. Williams is best known for his role in the film Slam, as well as his collaboration with Trent Reznor back in 2007, "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust."
Opening night for the play is on June 19.
