It's finally here: The first episode of Tahir Jetter's new web series Hard Times has hit the web, and, true to the trailer's promise, it's great. As previously reported, the new series follows a man living in NYC who begins stripping for a living in an effort to get by in the increasingly expensive city. It's not just a story about survival, but it also touches on widening income gaps, surviving in the world post-college, and the massive unemployment percentages that have rocked the nation for years.

The series was created by Jetter, and is being shot by Daniel Patterson, who just shot Spike Lee's upcoming film Da Sweet Blood of Jesus, in addition to a number of Sundance films. Jetter himself has had a film premiere at Sundance as well: His 2011 film Close opened at the festival.

You can check out the first episode of the web series above. New episodes will be made available on the Hard Times website, here, bi-monthly.
