After Matthew McConaugheytook home Best Actor at the Academy Awards for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, he headed backstage for some post show interviews. Of course, True Detective was on somebody's mind.
When asked if he'd return to the show for a second season he responded saying no and that "season one was finite.”
We've long known that True Detective is an anthology series, so it would've been highly unlikely that McConaughey would reprise his role as Rust Cohle from the get go.
Hell, we can all dream though.
