Taco Bell is going digital.
The fast food chain will start accepting orders from smartphones later this year, something the company has been experimenting with for about two years. "Living Más is all about doing things differently," mobile lead Jeff Jenkins said. "One brand will be extraordinary, while everyone else is ordinary." Taco Bell's plan include letting users choose to pick up the food by walking in or driving through. The resturant's app will use GPS data to let Taco Bell workers (who will be very, very busy when this comes out) know when to heat up food.
“If you can get 10 million people to download your app, you’re putting a portal to Taco Bell in 10 million pockets," Jenkins said.
