Speculation about Nintendo moving into the mobile market has been rampant since the company posted their less than stellar, third consecutive quarter losses.
Nintendo has roundly squashed any mentions of a move to mobile or tablets...until this afternoon. The company may soon offer game demos and ads on smartphones and tablets.
That's what we're lead to believe according to the Japanese business paper, Nikkei. The quietly released report seems to lend some credence to the industry wide assumption that Nintendo must diversify into mobile in order to survive.
Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime has hinted at a possible Nintendo experiment launching apps and smaller games on mobile, but this would merely be a strategy used to turn gamers back to Nintendo's proprietary hardware.
