If you weren't already looking forward to the Danny Boyle's upcoming Channel 4 series Babylon, take this as your cue: Judging by the first trailer, this show looks extremely intriguing. Boyle (who, of course, directed both Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire) directed the pilot of the series, which is being described as a police comedy/drama.

As for the plot: It stars Brit Marling as a new-media savvy American who is hired by a London police force as the new Director of Communications, in order to assist in giving the force a new image after a series of scandals. Of course, it's not that easy—and the result is a pretty great-looking show. Also promising is the fact that the series was written by Sam Bains and Jesse Armstrong, who both co-created and wrote one of the best British comedies ever, Peep Show.

You can check out the trailer above. The pilot will air on Feb. 9 on Channel 4 in the UK, with the rest of the season set to air later this year.
