When discussing Aisha Harris' Slate piece on how the standard representation of Santa Claus as a white man left her feeling alienated as a child, Fox News host Megyn Kelly made one thing clear: Santa Claus has to be a white man:
None
It gets better. Actually, it doesn't:
None
First of all, the idea of Jesus as your average white dude is a horribly flawed one, but that's not the point. Somewhere in the vicinity of the point is the fact that Kelly has no idea what it feels like to be a minority. Her thoughts on Harris' essay would be misuided.
The point here is that Santa Claus doesn't fucking exist. He isn't a white man; he isn't anything. He isn't real. You don't have to debate Santa's race just because someone wrote about it. End of discussion.
Leave it to Fox News to miss the point.
