Lay's has announced that it will introduce a chocolate-covered potato chip next week. Formally known as the Lay's Wavy Potato Chips Dipped in Milk Chocolate, a five-ounce bag of the limited-edition chips will go for $3.49. The mashup of salty, yet sweet treats is a continuing trend, and USA Today notes that specialty snacks like this are traditionally introduced between Halloween and New Year's. Research experts Symphony IRI say that snacking as a whole is on the rise, as 43 percent of consumers enjoy three or four per day now compared to 24 percent in 2009.
