Martin is ruthless, but if you need any more, this should do: Someone went through each of the books that Game of Thrones is based on (the A Song of Ice and Fire series, that is) and tabbed every single death that takes place in the books. Looks like a lot, doesn't it? Well, that's because it is: According to Buzzfeed, these color-coded tabs amount to a total of 284 deaths. The breakdown is as follows:
