A man in the Mexican city of Monterrey has confessed to 45 murders and is currently under investigation for another 34 dating back to 2011. Most of the killings were said to have occurred last year.

According to authorities, 20-year-old Juan Pablo Vazquez was arrested for allegedly selling drugs in Monterrey on Oct. 8. Nancy Ortiz was arrested along with Vazquez in possession of 22 packets of cocaine and 35 baggies of marijuana.

Vazquez also admitted to being part of an organized crime group; CNN says that a Mexican official told them it was the Gulf cartel

The official added that while Vasquez may not have been the shooter in every murder, he could've been one of many shooters or, at the very least, a witness.
